Epidemic Fairytales

Bringing you four translated traditional folktales, set in times of pestilence:

1. A gender-switching moon deity travels through Beijing during an epidemic, healing the sick.
2. A condemned ghost and a humble human work together to prevent a deadly outbreak
3. The love of a soldier for his same-sex partner moves a god to bring healing to a wartorn, disease-ravaged community. Wishes for a gay happy ever after granted.
4. A company of ghostly tea traders battle epidemic demons to save a village

This translated folktale tells of how a condemned ghost and a lowly human worked together to stop an epidemic.
